Evy Cornelissen (NL, 1997) is a designer based in the Netherlands. Growing up in a creative environment and spending much time outdoors nurtured her passion for the creative process. Her research-driven approach, rooted in sustainability and textiles, balances imagination with practicality. Guided by sensitivity to materials, craftsmanship, cultures, and everyday details, she translates narratives into material stories, objects, spaces, and strategies. By retracing techniques and sharing knowledge, she seeks a deeper understanding of how we emotionally connect with our physical surroundings.

Educated in the Netherlands and Denmark, she developed a flexible, multifaceted, and creative design attitude that supports interdisciplinary work. While textiles remain at the heart of her practice, she explores diverse materials and techniques, offering innovative perspectives and a hands-on aesthetic.

WORK

My work is driven by intuition, curiosity, and a dedication to thorough, context-specific design research. At its centre is a holistic and in-depth exploration of craft practices, viewing materials and colours as carriers of narratives. Resourceful within constraints, I blend imagination with practical solutions, translating ideas into tangible forms through thoughtful processes, materials, and techniques. Structured yet sensitive, I aim to create engaging, artful, and enduring designs that foster a sense of connectedness. In shaping each project, I embrace an open-minded, iterative process that encourages collaboration and knowledge sharing.
